Edan Alexander is a young man from Israel and America. He was a soldier in Israel. In October 2023, a group called Hamas took him from the border of Gaza. He stayed with them for 19 months. Now, Edan is free and with his family in Israel.

Israel stopped fighting in Gaza for a short time to help Edan come home. Hamas gave Edan to the Red Cross, and then he went to the Israeli army. His family was very happy to see him again. The president of the United States and the leader of Israel said thank you to everyone who helped Edan.

There are still many people in Gaza who are not free. Edan’s family wants the government to help the other hostages too. The fighting in Gaza is still happening, and many people are hurt. Some countries want to help make peace, but it is very difficult right now.
