Four young women say other soldiers sexually attacked and troubled them at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. They were 17 years old at the time. One woman says several young soldiers raped her for hours. Another says a soldier stopped her from leaving a room and touched her body. The women say some male teachers and students often spoke badly about girls and women.

The college trains Army students under 19. It also takes all new Army students who are 16 years old. It now has 889 students, including 70 girls and young women. Police received 16 reports of sexual crimes connected to the college in the year before June 2025. From January 2018 to June 2025, people made 176 reports about wrong sexual behaviour. They made 32 reports about adult staff and 144 about young soldiers.

The Army says these reports are very serious. It says there is no place for sexual attacks or other crimes in the Army. Labour MP Emma Lewell says an outside group should look closely at the college and speak to the children there. She says people must ask if the college should stay open. Some of the women left the Army, and they say their time at the college still hurts them.
