Russia says no to Western troops in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want Western soldiers in Ukraine. He says that if Western countries send soldiers, they will be targets for Russia. Many Western countries want to help Ukraine if there is a stop to the fighting, but Russia does not agree.
The leaders of France, the United States, and other countries met to talk about how to help Ukraine. They want to give Ukraine more help and maybe send soldiers to keep peace if the fighting stops. Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, thinks this is a good first step, but Russia does not trust these plans.
