British actor Dame Judi Dench says she can no longer act in plays or films. She also cannot read. She is 91 years old. She has had a serious eye problem since 2012. It makes it hard for her to see faces and other things.
Dench has worked as an actor for more than 70 years. She won an Oscar in 1999 for the film Shakespeare in Love. She also played M, the boss of James Bond, in several Bond films. Her first Bond film was GoldenEye in 1995.
Her eye problem has become worse over time. In the past, she found it hard to see on film sets and learn her words. She still goes to public events, but she says she cannot return to the stage or make another film now. She listens to the radio and continues to speak about her life and work.
