US takes all bombers away from RAF Fairford

The United States has taken all its bombers away from RAF Fairford in England. About 12 B-1 bombers left the base on Sunday and returned to the US. The US did not give a clear reason. The decision came after a serious event near the base on 27 September.

Police found three vehicles near the base. They arrested five British men from London. Later, they arrested a sixth man, who is British and Iranian. Police thought the men might be planning an attack. Police later let all six men leave, but the police investigation continues.

RAF Fairford is an important base for US military planes. The US has used bombers there for flights to the Middle East and Iran. Iran has said that it could attack bases used against it, but Iran says it had no part in the event. The Pentagon says US bombers can still fly on missions from bases in America.
