Doctors missed brain cyst before man died

Adam Cornell, 32, died at Peterborough City Hospital on 11 June 2023. Doctors found a cyst near the bottom of his brain. It caused too much fluid in his brain. By then, doctors could not save him.

Before his death, Adam had headaches and felt dizzy. He also fell down and lost consciousness. Two doctors and a paramedic saw him, but they did not send him for emergency care. A coroner said they missed important warning signs. She said faster care would probably have saved him.

Adam’s mother, Maria Cornell, said he was kind and cared about his family and friends. She wants health workers to learn from his death. She said they must listen to families and act when a patient gets worse. The ambulance service said it will study the case and work to make patient care safer.
