Dog rescued from Ben Nevis after eating cannabis

A black Labrador called Tokyo became very ill on Ben Nevis in Scotland last weekend. Her owner, dog trainer Christina Bluhme, was halfway up the mountain when Tokyo fell down. She could not use her legs and often lost consciousness.
The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team carried the 25kg dog down the mountain on a stretcher. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK. It is 1,345m high. The team took Tokyo to a vet in Fort William.
Tokyo is now well again. The vets think she ate cannabis that someone left on the path. Cannabis is a drug, and it can make dogs very ill. Bluhme thanked the rescue team and the vets. She also told dog owners to watch for drugs and other dangerous things when they walk outside.
