Lyle Menendez and his brother Erik killed their parents many years ago. They went to prison for this. Now, after more than thirty years, both brothers asked if they could leave prison, but the answer was no.

Lyle talked to the people who decide if he can leave prison. He said he is sorry for what he did. He also said he helps other people in prison and tries to be good. But the people said Lyle broke some rules in prison, so they do not think he is ready to leave.

Lyle and Erik can try again in three years. Their family and friends want them to come home. The governor can also help them, but it is not sure if he will. For now, both brothers must stay in prison.
