Trump criticises Norway after Nobel Peace Prize decision

US President Donald Trump said he was angry about this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. On Friday, the Nobel group gave the prize to Navi Pillay from South Africa. Trump spoke at a meeting in Syracuse, New York. He called the decision “disgraceful” and said it was bad for Norway.
Pillay is 85 years old. She worked as a judge and as a United Nations human rights leader. The Nobel group said she helped countries use the law to punish people for terrible acts during wars. Pillay thanked people for the prize. She also joked that she might share it with Trump.
Trump has said many times that he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. He says he helped stop eight wars, but he did not give proof. Norway’s prime minister told him last year that Norway’s government does not choose the winner. A separate group makes the decision. The Nobel group also says winners cannot give or transfer the prize to another person.
