First-time mother dies while having her baby

Chelsea McGillivray died while having her first baby last Monday. She was 31 and lived in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire. Her pregnancy had been normal, and she had no known health problems. During labour at a hospital in Glasgow, her heart suddenly stopped. Hospital workers tried to save her, but she died.
Doctors helped her baby boy, Tommy, to be born safely. He stayed in a special hospital unit so staff could check his health. He was healthy and went home two days later. He is now at home with his father, Jack. Chelsea’s family say Tommy gives them hope during this very sad time.
Jack plans to care for Tommy and remember Chelsea. He will take Tommy for the baby photos that Chelsea had planned. The family started an online fund because Jack works for himself and needs time away from work. People have given more than £85,000. The health service sent its deepest sympathy to Chelsea’s family.
