A court in Sydney, Australia, ruled in favor of actress Rebel Wilson on Wednesday. Young actress Charlotte MacInnes had taken Wilson to court. She said Wilson harmed her name with Instagram posts in 2024 and 2025. The judge did not agree. She also ordered MacInnes to pay Wilson’s court costs.

The case was about an event in September 2023. MacInnes and film producer Amanda Ghost went swimming at Bondi Beach. They later shared a bath while wearing swimsuits. MacInnes told Wilson that the event made her feel uncomfortable. Wilson later wrote online that MacInnes changed her story to help her work life. MacInnes said this was not true.

Judge Elizabeth Raper said Wilson’s posts did not seriously harm MacInnes or her work. After the decision, Wilson said the case taught her a lot. She thanked her supporters, the judge, and the Australian court system. MacInnes has not yet made a public comment.
